Investigators on the scene of an accident involving a cement truck and Ford Mustang say those involved are lucky to be alive.

Although the much larger truck crushed the much smaller vehicle, everyone made it out alive. Two children were among those involved in the crash.

The crash happened at the intersection of Zapata Highway and Mercer.

At the time of the accident, three passengers were inside the Mustang – a man in his 30’s and two girls under 6. Despite not having car seats in the vehicle, both girls were not seriously injured.

Firefighters worked for an hour to remove the man driving the car. He did not appear to sustain life-threatening injuries.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
